Alysha is a Special Counsel in HWLE’s Melbourne Corporate & Commercial team.

Alysha spent almost a decade in-house across a range of industries before returning to private practice, most recently as Australian Deputy General Counsel of a multinational Defence industry prime and civil security systems provider. She has experience drafting and negotiating complex, multi-party contracts, and advising on legal and commercial strategy across major projects across industries including agriculture, retail and FMCG, defence, air traffic management and security, infrastructure, motorsport, construction and technology.

This in-house grounding means Alysha has direct insight into how risks play out in practice. She advises through a commercially-minded lens and is focused on providing clients with real-world solutions that are actually deliverable.

Alysha’s experience includes advising:

  • Saab Australia as lead negotiator on the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement, a complex multi-party collaborative agreement;
  • An Australian motorsport facility on development of a suite of template contracts for its operations, including construction of the facility, events and vendor management, sponsorships, recreational services, hotel management and regulatory approvals;
  • Technology industry client on a subcontractor dispute for a major infrastructure project and associated commercial strategy to maintain progress on-site;
  • Various clients on legal risk and commercial strategy for major local and international tenders; and
  • Various clients on providing training and reviewing contracts for compliance with the Australian Consumer Law, including UCT compliance.
