HWL Ebsworth was recently pleased to host, with the Victorian Government and AUSTRADE, a delegation of asset managers from China, at the firm’s Melbourne offices. The delegates were part of a China Asset Management Mission to Australia organised by the Commonwealth Government, and included delegates from Kunpeng Capital, the China Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, Zhejian Financial Holding Investment Management, China Aviation Trust, China Jianyin Investment Limited, China Resources Capital and China Asset Management.

HWL Ebsworth Partners presented on a range of topics, including on financial services licensing (Adeline Hiew, Financial Services), property acquisition issues (David Marriott, Property), public private partnerships (Peter Dreher, Commercial) and Foreign Investment Review Board issues (Yan Li Wang, Head of China Practice). Special Counsel Ginger Li (China Practice) assisted with translating technical legal concepts into Chinese. The visitors engaged in a lively discussion and Q & A session with the firm’s partners during the presentations.
