Paul specialises in building and construction law and has over 20 years’ experience advising clients in the construction industry.

Paul has particular expertise in procurement and tender processes; construction and infrastructure project documentation; project administration and delivery; claims, disputes and dispute resolution.

Experience

Paul’s recent experience includes advising:

  • John Holland and CPB Contractors since 2016 in relation to a major joint venture infrastructure project to construct a rail line in North West Sydney with 8 new stations from Cherrybrook to Tallawong;
  • Thiess on the landmark Wynyard Walk infrastructure project to design and construct an underground tunnel and associated facilities connecting Wynyard Station to Barangaroo;
  • Zinfra in relation to a number of disputes including Supreme Court proceedings in relation to a project to construct a pipeline in Bundaberg Queensland; claims by Sydney Water relating to asserted defects at a water reservoir in Currans Hill and claims by Zinfra in respect of a project known as Shell Heights Sewer Lead-in;
  • Ecove Group on a number of large multi-storey mixed purpose (residential and commercial) developments in Sydney including a tower development at 130 Elizabeth Street, Opal Towers at Olympic Park and Boomerang at Olympic Park;
  • John Holland on a number of projects including Canberra Metro, Auburn Maintenance Centre and Sydney Desalination Plant; and
  • Sydney Airport on hundreds of successful infrastructure projects at Sydney Airport including terminal, runway and baggage facility works.
