Matthew assists many leading banks, debt funds, property funds, sponsors and other corporates with their financing needs across a wide range of industries including real estate, construction, agribusiness, retail, healthcare and technology/start up.

Experience

Matthew’s experience includes advising:

  • A national Australian bank on a secured loan facility to a borrower for the acquisition and refinance of a portfolio of 4 hotels and bars in NSW;
  • A national Australian bank on secured loan facilities to a borrower for general corporate and working capital in respect of its IT systems business;
  • A private lender on senior secured facilities to a borrower for the acquisition of commercial real estate (subject to tenancies) in Parramatta, NSW;
  • A foreign bank on senior secured loan facilities (s128F) to a developer to assist with the acquisition of all of the strata titles across two towers in Sydney, NSW;
  • A foreign bank on a senior secured loan to assist a German sponsored fund with the acquisition of an investment grade office (subject to tenancies) in Melbourne, VIC;
  • A leading national construction and development company on establishing a number of debt funds to invest in, and leverage returns on, its developments in the ACT and South Australia;
  • An international developer on its refinance of senior secured loan facilities from a global non-bank lender to assist with its residual stock and the development of further commercial and residential towers in Sydney, NSW;
  • An Australian privately owned IT services company on its recapitalisation and in respect of its general corporate and working capital facilities (secured) from a national Australian bank; and
  • Various corporates (in retail fashion/lifestyle) on secured loan facilities from national Australian banks and other financial institutions to assist with their general corporate and working capital needs (including acquisition facilities for expansion).
