Julie Talakovski is a Partner in the Litigation practice group of HWL Ebsworth. She specialises in banking and insolvency law and represents some of Australia’s largest banks, financiers and insolvency firms.
Experience
Julie’s recent experience includes:
- Banks and financers: Represented banks and financiers in defending claims for breaches of the Code of Banking Practice and statutory duties, particularly arising under Contracts Review Act 1980 (NSW), Real Property Act 1900 (NSW), Conveyancing Act 1919 (NSW) and like federal legislation;
- Banks and financers: Represented banks and financiers in defending claims of fraud and forgery, particularly by third party mortgagor / guarantors;
- Banks and financers: Represented banks and financiers in resisting applications by mortgagors to stay enforcement of securities;
- Banks, financers and insolvency practitioners: Advised banks, financiers and insolvency practitioners on the exercise of the power of sale and realisation strategy, particularly with respect to contaminated land and impaired real property assets; and
- Banks, financers and insolvency practitioners: Represented banks, financiers and insolvency practitioners in the application to lapse caveats and in the opposition of relief sought for the extension of caveat life.
